As an LTSO, you will identify, distribute, and balance workloads and tasks among employees in accordance with established workflow and skill level. As a Lead Transportation Security Officer (LTSO), you will be responsible for leading at least three full-performance level Transportation Security Officers (TSOs) and, as assigned, trainee and apprentice level TSOs. This Lead Transportation Security Officer position is located in the Transportation Security Administration, Department of Homeland Security (DHS). This vacancy may be used to fill gender-specific needs in order to maintain required ratio. Accordingly, TSA must ensure that it employs a certain ratio of male and female LTSOs to perform passenger screening. ![]() Due to privacy interests and the sensitive nature of these duties, the TSA requires a same-gender pat down of passengers.
